New SMHS Board member Dr Amanda Boudville believes enhancing connections between clinicians and senior decision makers will have significant benefits for patients.

Dr Boudville is an experienced geriatrician and stroke physician who has worked across various areas of the public and private health systems.

She was prompted to nominate for the board because she feels strongly about clinician engagement and innovation in healthcare.

“My focus is on the multidisciplinary team and how we work together to provide the best outcomes for our patients,” Dr Boudville said.

“This can often mean challenging the way we do things, and searching to find better ways of serving our community.”

She said clinician representation at all levels was vital to delivering safe and quality services.

“By engaging with clinicians at every level, we can be responsive to concerns and put the right systems in place to support those doing the work.

“I look forward to playing an active role in strengthening those relationships and in turn strengthening the services we provide to our patients.”
