International Skills and Training Institute in Health

The International Skills and Training Institute in Health (ISTIH) (external site) is a local, non-profit organisation that provides assistance to health professionals throughout the Asia Pacific region.

With core partners WA Health and the University of Western Australia, ISTIH collaborates with health workers and organisations to develop specialised training programs in medicine, nursing and allied health to suit community needs.

ISTIH Volunteers4Health

There are many opportunities for staff working in medicine, nursing and allied health to volunteer with like-minded professionals on key aid and development projects throughout the Asia Pacific region.

ISTIH Volunteers4Health (external site) matches specialist health professionals with international volunteering opportunities in a number of disciplines including, yet not limited to:

  • emergency medicine
  • maternal and child health
  • disaster planning
  • medical skills
  • occupational health
  • cardiovascular medicine
  • leadership in medicine
