Led by James Williamson the functions of this executive office include:
- advising the Director General, Minister for Health and Minister for Mental Health on high level clinical issues
- providing strategic direction, leadership and policy advice and high level decision making on clinical issues for WA Health
- ensuring compliance with legislative, operational and administrative requirements of the Clinical Services and Research Division
- representing Western Australia on national, state and local committees, forums and working groups
- managing the human and financial resources within the Clinical Services and Research Division
- developing system level policies and systems for clinical teaching and training
- managing the international workforce supply bureau.
