Public health and disasters course

The Environment Health Directorate and Disaster Preparedness and Management Unit (DPMU), on behalf of the Public Health Division, invite you to attend the Public health and disasters course. The course focus is on disaster preparedness.

The course is aimed at increasing participants’ awareness of the considerations for preventing, preparing, responding to and recovering from a disaster that may compromise public health.

Guest speakers with extensive experience cover issues such as:

  • mass gatherings
  • communicable diseases
  • water and sanitation
  • vector control
  • shelter
  • reflection on WA public health events.

The course is targeted at public health practitioners, including community health staff, environmental health officers, public health officers, public health staff and infection control staff.

Others with an interest or who may be involved in the emergency response to public health events are also encouraged to apply.
