Meningococcal vaccination campaign


Following increased incidence of meningococcal in Western Australia, the Department of Health launched a state wide vaccination program for people aged 15 to 19 in April 2017 and ending in 2019.

The vaccine was delivered to school aged teens through a school-based vaccination program.

A state wide campaign was launched to raise awareness of the program to eligible teens, particularly those not at school.

Target audience

  • 15 to 19 year olds in Western Australia
  • 18 to 19 year olds in particular
  • Parents of 15 to 19 year olds in Western Australia

Campaign dates

April 2017 to December 2019

Promotion will continue in bursts throughout the life of the vaccination program.

Materials may be revised and updated throughout the life of the campaign.
