Having a baby at Bentley Hospital

Bentley Hospital delivers more than 1000 babies per year.

Temporary closure of Bentley Hospital Maternity Unit

Across the health system, we are doing a lot of work to prepare for COVID-19, and as part of this, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to temporarily cease maternity and gynaecological services at Bentley Hospital, effective Friday 27 March.

This decision was not made lightly but done with the safety of our patients in mind. Bentley Hospital will remain open, and the closure of our maternity service will enable us to build capacity within our healthcare system to meet the increased demand we anticipate will come as a result of COVID-19.

All booked maternity patients have been transferred to either Armadale Hospital or King Edward Memorial Hospital, and all gynaecology patients to King Edward Memorial Hospital.

If you were booked to attend Bentley Hospital, staff will be in touch as soon as possible to book your next appointment at the new locations. Please bring your hand-held medical record along to your next appointment.
