The Department of Health has reported zero cases of community transmission of COVID-19 overnight. There is one new confirmed case related to overseas travel.
The positive case is a male in his 30s who travelled to Perth from overseas and is in hotel quarantine. The State’s total is now 907.
Contact tracing around case 903 has identified 508 close and casual contacts. Most have now returned negative results and WA Health is following up with those contacts who are still waiting on test results.

Yesterday 9,330 people were tested at COVID clinics across the State, including 489 at the Maylands pop up clinic.
Today is the final day the Maylands clinic will be open. The clinic, located at the Rise in Maylands, will be open until 10pm.
WA Health COVID clinics are open from 7am - 10pm today and 7am – 6pm tomorrow. This includes clinics at Fiona Stanley Hospital, Royal Perth Hospital, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Joondalup Hospital. Details of all clinics (external site) are available on the Healthy WA website.
Anyone in the community who is symptomatic should immediately get a COVID-19 test. This applies to those who recently received negative test results – if symptoms develop, get retested.
WA Health is monitoring 11 active cases of COVID-19 – all in hotel quarantine.
To date 887 people have recovered from the virus in WA.
There have been 779,033 COVID-19 tests results returned throughout the State. Of those, 118,325 were from regional WA.
To date, 19 cases of variant strains have been detected (15 B.1.1.7 strain and 4 B.1.351 strain). Five of these cases remain active and are in hotel quarantine.

Note: The cases of variant strains reported above are not new cases. Genome sequencing – to define the strain of the virus – is a separate laboratory process carried out after someone who tests positive to COVID-19. All cases, regardless of strain, are managed by WA’s public health experts. The strains previously reported as the UK variant strain and South African variant strain will now be referred to as B.1.1.7 and B.1.351 respectively.
