COVID-19 update 24 October 2021

WA Health is reporting no new cases of COVID-19 overnight.

The State’s total remains at 1112. To date, 1101 people have recovered from the virus in WA.

As of last night, WA Health was monitoring two active COVID-19 cases, both of whom are in hotel quarantine.

Tasmania

WA Health continues to monitor the situation in Tasmania after a man in his 30s, who breached quarantine, tested positive for COVID-19.

Western Australians who have been at a listed venue at the specified times needs to self-quarantine for 14 days and be tested within 48 hours and at day 12.

Testing clinics

Yesterday, 391 people were swabbed at State-run clinics.*

As of this week, appointments are no longer required at State-run clinics in metropolitan Perth and regional areas.

Directions are being drafted to make vaccinations mandatory for most occupations and workforces in Western Australia.

Border controls

The Premier announced this week that Queensland will remain classified as a ‘low risk’ jurisdiction.

Earlier this week, the State Government announced that Western Australia’s controlled interstate border was set to be safely adjusted, pending no further outbreaks, to allow for quarantine-free travel from Queensland. The transition has been paused and the decision will be reviewed on Monday, 25 October 2021.

Variants
