COVID-19 update 25 May 2022

WA Health is reporting a total of 12,419 new cases to 8pm last night. There are currently 77,331 active cases in Western Australia.

To 8pm last night, there were 301 people with COVID-19 in hospital, 7 in ICU.

Sadly, today’s report includes two deaths, which date back to 18 May and were reported to WA Health yesterday; a man in his 70s and woman in her 80s.

WA Health has reclassified the death of a man in his 80s, who died earlier this month, as a non-COVID related death.
Due to confidentiality, no further information will be released by the Department.

Notes

  1. This data is based on the residential postcode of each case. The case may have an isolation address in another region.
  2. The remainder of daily cases reported (151) are yet to have a region assigned. Data will continue to be reconfigured as this information is verified.

Of the 12,419 cases, 4,317 were confirmed via PCR test, the remaining 8,102 were self-reported positive rapid antigen tests.

A total of 15,597 PCR tests were conducted at either state-run or private pathology clinics yesterday.

WA has recorded 684,326 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
