Carers Advisory Network

At CAHS Mental Health we value the contribution of children and families to our services, and we use the experience and knowledge as parents and carers to improve our services. We are committed to partnering with children and families at all stages of service design, delivery and evaluation.

The Carers Advisory Network has been established so families and carers who have used our services can become involved in decision making processes to improve our services.

Mental Health partner with carers when we:

  • design and review health services, publications and safety and quality performance information
  • develop and review Mental Health policy
  • identify and support initiatives and strategies that improve mental health services for children, young people and their families.

Our network of carers aim to develop innovative and effective feedback mechanisms to ensure that the voice of all carers is captured.

We want to make it as easy as possible for you to participate with Mental Health. When we hold meetings they are held at locations that will be decided in consultation with carers who express an interest. We recognise the difficulties of parents and carers attending groups (e.g. childcare), and will endeavour to support your participation.

There is no ongoing commitment to stay involved with the network. Members can be involved as much or as little as they wish and by email or telephone if preferred.
