Release of Information under the Freedom of Information Act 1992 (the 'FOI Act') - Policy and Guidelines

POLICY

Health Agencies are responsible for ensuring that documents held by WA Health are released in a timely, efficient and consistent manner in accordance with the FOI Act, and that accurate recording and reporting is maintained.

PURPOSE

The purpose of the policy is to provide comprehensive guidance on the release of documents under the FOI Act. This policy is supported by processes to ensure that documents are released in a uniform and consistent way by Health Agencies.

The principles also outline the conditions under which Health Agencies may release personal health documents outside of the FOI Act in accordance with best practice.
