Infection Prevention and Control of Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureaus (MRSA)

Applicable to: All Heath Service Providers

Description:  The purpose of this document is to ensure people colonised or infected with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) are identified early and strategies are implement to:

  • reduce the risk of transmission of MRSA to other patients, clients, residents and healthcare workers (HCWs) within healthcare facilities (HCFs); and
  • minimise the risk of them acquiring an MRSA healthcare associated infection (HAI).
