‘Healthysexual’ sexual health awareness campaign

Healthysexual is the overarching sexual health campaign to raise awareness about sexual health and the things people can do to prevent, test, treat and talk to minimise the personal and social impact of STIs.

The 2021–22 campaign focuses on syphilis, due to increasing notifications state wide.

STIs are very common, many people will get an STI in their lifetime. If left untreated, STIs can have long-term effects on your health. Testing is simple and the only way to be sure you don’t have an STI. A simple urine, swab or blood sample is often all that is needed.

STIs are also prevalent overseas so we’re also encouraging travellers to always use a condom. Anyone who has had unprotected sex while travelling should visit their GP for an STI test when they return home.

The campaign communicates core sexual health messaging and uses a simple call to action – talk, test, protect – to cut across all demographics.
