Medication safety is one of the 10 National Safety and Quality Healthcare Standards for hospitals.
Medication incidents are the second highest reported cause of adverse events after falls within Australian hospitals with a large proportion being preventable.
Each year a number of themes are determined through the Medication Safety Network to assist in promotion of medication safety within the hospital and health care sectors. Posters are developed in collaboration with the Medication Safety Network and provide to hospitals by WA Health.
