Erina Myers, North Metropolitan Health Service

Erin’s research is titled ‘Educational intervention on Delirium for Intensive care (ICU) nurses: Can it improve patient management?’ and focuses on the knowledge gap between ICU nurses and evidence-based practice for screening for delirium.

Maria Kim

Maria’s research is titled ‘Women’s Anxiety and Decision-Making Experience After a Previous Caesarean Birth: A Western Australian Mixed Methods Study’.  The study aims to raise awareness of women’s needs in planning future childbirth and offer an opportunity for maternity care professionals to reflect upon shared decision making.

Kirsty Haywood, Women’s Newborn Health Service

Kirsty studied her Masters in Health Professions Education at Curtin University.  Her research is titled ‘Providing students with written feedback: An interpretive phenomenological study exploring the perspectives of Midwives and Student Midwives’.

Renee Mckenzie, North Metropolitian Health Service

Renee’s research project explored and analysed the experiences of graduate nurses during their first rotation as participants of the Sir Charles Gardener Hospital (SCGH) graduate nurses program.

Victoria is undertaking a Professional Doctorate in Nursing at The University of Notre Dame. Victoria's doctorate focuses on perioperative nurses' perception of the barriers and enablers in undertaking the surgical count: A mixed methods study

Sheralee Tamaliunas, Nursing and Midwifery Office

Sheralee is undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy. Her study is titled ‘The lived experience of nursing leadership from the perspective of nurse executives within public health services in WA; a phenomenological study.’

Ulrich Steinwandel, Fremantle Hospital and Health Service

Ulrich is undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy. His study is titled, ‘Do ultrasounds measurements of the inferior vena cave (IVC-US) by nursing staff improve assessment and management of intravascular volume status in the satellite haemodialysis clinic settings?’

Peter Taratara, Kununurra Hospital

Peter is completing his Master of Health Services Management. His research project looks into the Australian aged care system in terms of care needs and preferences, staff retention and employee satisfaction.

Carolyn Keane, Fremantle Hospital

Carolyn is completing her Doctor of Nursing .The aim of Carolyn’s research study is to evaluate models of care in acute metropolitan hospital across Australia. She plans on conducting this study in 3 distinct phases.

Jenni Ng, Global Health Alliance Western Australia, WA Department of Health

Jenni’s research is titled ‘Continuing Nursing Education (CNE): An evaluation of the effectiveness and sustainability of CNE in Tanzanian nurses and midwives following participation in Professional Development (PD) programs’.
