In Western Australia (WA), Aboriginal environmental health practitioners, who are employed by one of WA Health’s contracted agencies to provide Aboriginal Environmental Health services to WA’s remote communities, and have attained a Certificate II in Indigenous Environmental Health or a Certificate II in Population Health, are now authorised to carry out basic emergency plumbing repair work in remote Aboriginal communities, thereby assisting to reduce any associated risk to public health
