Events and public buildings

COVID-19: Please refer to the WA Government website (external site) for current COVID-19 restrictions.

Basic precautions can prevent the majority of serious incidents and deaths that occur in and around buildings and open spaces.

Building legislation provides minimum construction standards, but how buildings are used is a critical factor for public safety.

In WA the principal legislation is the Health Act 1911 Part VI (external site) and the Health (Public Buildings) Regulations 1992 (external site) and the Health (Air-handling and water systems) Regulations 1994 (external site).
