  • Meningococcal disease in an adult

    The Department of Health today reported that an adult is currently recovering after being diagnosed with meningococcal disease, serogroup B. This brings the number of reported cases of invasive meningococcal disease in 2019 to 16. Of the 16 cases, five have been serogroup B, six serogroup W and five serogroup C meningococcal infections.

  • Medical diagnostic scans to be prioritised due to technetium shortages

    Due to an Australia-wide shortage of technetium (Tc-99m), a substance commonly used in a number of medical diagnostic imaging scans, nuclear medical scans across the State will be prioritised from next week based on clinical need.
