COVID-19 update – 17 July 2020

The Department of Health has reported two new cases of COVID-19 overnight, bringing the State’s total to 648.

One of the new cases is a returned overseas traveller who is currently in hotel quarantine.

The other case is a Western Australian male in his 40s who returned home from Victoria. Since arriving back in Perth he has been self-isolating at home.

There are now 26 active COVID-19 cases in Western Australia. Of those cases 19 are from WA and seven are from interstate.

To date, 613 people have recovered from the virus in WA, following three recoveries overnight.

Yesterday 672 people presented to WA COVID-19 clinics – 645 were assessed and 639 were swabbed.

To date there have been 219,758 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those tested, 37,739 were from regional WA.
