COVID-19 update – 5 November 2020

The Department of Health has reported four new cases of COVID-19 in Western Australia overnight.

The confirmed cases – three females and one male aged between 18 and 44 – have all returned to Perth from overseas. They are in hotel quarantine.

The State’s positive COVID-19 case total stands at 775. To date 750 people have recovered from the virus.

WA Health is monitoring 16 active cases, including one crew member from the AL Messilah livestock carrier which remains berthed at Fremantle Port.

The Health operation has been successfully completed and the AL Messilah and the Key Integrity have cleared quarantine. Control of the vessels has returned to the respective shipping agents.

While questions around movement of the vessels should be directed to the shipping agents, the Department understands the AL Messilah will commence loading and depart Fremantle in the coming days.

The Key Integrity is also expected to sail as soon as possible.

Yesterday 383 people presented to WA COVID-19 clinics – 380 were assessed and swabbed.

There have been 499,753 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those tested, 84,104 were from regional WA.
