WA Health has reported no new local cases of COVID-19 overnight.
Case 1028 – the locally acquired case linked to the outbreak in Perth’s northern suburbs which was announced yesterday – is included in today’s State COVID-19 numbers.
A total of 360 close contacts have been identified in this community cluster, of which 295 have tested negative so far. Of 2503 casual contacts, 1173 have tested negative so far.
Contact tracing continues with initial public exposure sites available on the HealthyWA website.
WA Health advises that anyone who has attended the Mobius Health and Performance gym in Joondalup since Tuesday, 22 June should attend a COVID-19 clinic and get tested immediately, quarantine and call Public Health Operations on 1300 316 555 (8am – 8pm).
Connolly Primary School, Koondoola Primary School and Burbridge School remain closed until Term 3.
WA Health continues to monitor contacts of a positive COVID-19 case at the Granites gold mine in the Northern Territory with 177 mine workers tested in WA, all returning an initial negative test. They are all required to quarantine for 14 days and must be tested again.
WA Health is monitoring eight active COVID-19 cases (including four cases in returned travellers in hotel quarantine). To date, 1011 people have recovered from the virus in WA.
SafeWA
Yesterday, there were 1,190,696 check-ins on the SafeWA app.
Testing clinics
There are 35 metropolitan COVID-19 testing collection centres across metropolitan Perth and Peel, including new drive throughs at Mindarie, Edith Cowan University Joondalup and HBF Arena Joondalup.

Yesterday, 15,809 people were swabbed.
To date there have been 1,341,319 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those, 166,275 were from regional WA.
Vaccination
Yesterday, 12,774 people received a COVID-19 vaccination – 4,475 of those were second doses.

New South Wales and Queensland
NSW and Queensland are now both assessed as medium risk. Anyone who has arrived into WA from these states are required to get tested immediately (within 48 hours of arrival), self-quarantine for 14 days, and have another test on day 11 of their quarantine period.
They should continue to monitor updated exposure sites on the Queensland Health and NSW Health websites.
Victoria, ACT and Northern Territory
Victoria is assessed as a low-risk location.
South Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand
All are assessed as very low risk.
Variants
To date, 101 cases of variant strains have been detected in Western Australia – 53 Alpha strain, 15 Beta strain, one Gamma strain and 32 Delta strain.
