The State’s total number now stands at 965.

WA Health is monitoring 18 active cases of COVID-19 and 938 people have recovered from the virus in WA.

To date, the WA Department of Health has administered 72,263 COVID-19 vaccinations, including 14,667 people who have received both doses. Yesterday, 1682 people were vaccinated.

The Commonwealth Government vaccination national roll-out figures can be found on the Australian Department of Health website (external site).

Yesterday, 383 people attended WA Health COVID clinics, with 369 assessed and swabbed.

There have been 980,080 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those, 136,198 were from regional WA.

To date, 47 cases of variant strains have been detected in Western Australia – 34 of the B.1.1.7 strain, 12 of the B.1.351 strain and one of the P1 variant (Brazilian variant).

Note: The cases of variant strains reported above are not new cases. Genome sequencing – to define the strain of the virus – is a separate laboratory process carried out after someone tests positive to COVID-19. All cases, regardless of strain, are managed by WA’s public health experts. The strains previously reported as the UK variant strain and South African variant strain will now be referred to as B.1.1.7 and B.1.351 respectively.
