WA Health has reported no new cases of COVID-19 overnight in WA.
The State’s total remains at 1021.
WA Health is monitoring two active cases of COVID-19 – 1010 people have recovered from the virus in WA.
Western Australia has reintroduced a hard border, transitioning NSW to a ‘medium risk’ State in the wake of the escalating situation and NSW COVID-19 outbreak.
All people who have arrived into WA from New South Wales are asked to continue to monitor updated exposure sites on the NSW Health website.
WA Health has also issued updated advice for travellers who have recently returned from New Zealand, following reports from NSW Health and New Zealand that an infectious person travelled to New Zealand between 18-21 June from Sydney.
Anyone in WA who visited the Wellington area after 18 June 2021 (even if not to a listed exposure site) should get tested if even mild symptoms develop, and self-isolate immediately until a negative test result is received.
Travellers from New Zealand should continue to monitor the New Zealand Ministry for Health site.
Travellers who have recently returned from Queensland who have been to one of the listed exposure sites during the relevant times is required to get tested immediately and self-quarantine for 14 days, followed by a test on day 11.

Western Australia has been assessed Victoria as a low-risk location. Returning travellers are required to self-quarantine at a suitable premises for 14 days and present for a COVID test on Day 11.

Yesterday, 1054 people were swabbed at WA Health COVID clinics.
There have been 1,282,606 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those, 162,393 were from regional WA.

To date, 97 cases of variant strains have been detected in Western Australia – 53 of the Alpha (UK variant) strain, 15 of the Beta (South African variant) strain, one of the Gamma (Brazilian variant) strain and 28 of the Delta (Indian variant) strain.
