Innovative program cuts diabetes outpatient waitlists

2 November 2017

An innovative program to support people with complex type 2 diabetes has successfully helped more than 300 patients receive care closer to home.

The Diabetes Complex Care Clinic (DCCC) is an initiative of the Department of Health, Fiona Stanley Hospital and 360 Health + Community, to enable patients to access complex care via a GP-led service, rather than at a hospital outpatient clinic.

On average, DCCC patients are seen within two weeks compared to a wait time of up to 12 months when in a hospital outpatient clinic.
