Women's Health and Wellbeing

On Saturday 9 March 2019, the Minister for Health, the Hon. Roger Cook MLA, opened the consultation (external site) for the Department of Health’s new State policy on Women’s Health and Wellbeing which is being developed by the Health Networks Unit.

Designed to complement the Western Australian Men’s Health and Wellbeing Policy, the Western Australian Women’s Health and Wellbeing Policy (the Policy) will focus on inequalities in health outcomes between women and men, and in population risk groups of girls and women.

The new Policy will identify action areas for WA that align with the priorities contained in the National Women’s Health Strategy 2020 – 2030 (external site) and the State Government’s Women’s Plan (external site), currently under development by the Department of Communities.

To have your say and contribute to the Policy, please complete the online survey (external site) by Friday 28 June 2019. The Policy will be informed by the online survey and targeted consultations.

The Expression of Interest for the Policy Working Group has now closed. A Working Group will be established to oversee the development of the Policy. View the Terms of Reference (PDF 212KB).

For more information, or if you would like an alternative format of the survey, please contact Health Networks on 9222 0200 or via email healthpolicy@health.wa.gov.au.

A WA Women’s Health Conference is taking place during Women’s Health Week on Monday 2 September. The Conference will be held in partnership with Women’s Community Health Network WA to bring people together to identify opportunities to focus on Women’s Health and Wellbeing over the next decade.
