This report presents the findings of a cross sectional study of 10,825 children aged 5 to12 years in 2011 and 2012 who presented at Dental Treatment Centres located in non-fluoridated areas of the South West of Western Australia and the Perth metropolitan area where the drinking water has been fluoridated for over 40 years.
The aim of the study was to determine if there was a difference in the prevalence of dental health outcomes in children that was associated with access to fluoridated water in Western Australia.
