Department of Health courses

We promote information about simulation training being offered across Western Australia. WA Health training includes:

• obstetric and maternity services training to support clinicians across the State is provided by the Statewide Obstetric Support Unit, King Edward Memorial Hospital (external site)
• perinatal mental health support courses and presentations are provided by the WA Perinatal Mental Health Unit, King Edward Memorial Hospital (external site)
• wound prevention and management online training is available at WoundsWest (external site)
• life support courses and trauma education are often available from different hospitals

Non-government and education sector courses

• The Australian Resuscitation Council (external site) provides courses and guidelines for all aspects of resuscitation
• The Australian Simulation and Technical Training (AusSETT) program (external site) is now complete. The next phase of developing healthcare simulation educators and technicians can be found at NHET-Sim (external site)
• Surgical and medical skills training is available from the Clinical Training Evaluation Centre (CTEC) (external site) at the University of Western Australia
• Simulation training and inter-professional learning is available from the Edith Cowan University Health Simulation Centre (external site)
• Rural clinicians can access support from Rural Health West (external site)
• Simulation facilities for skills training for all healthcare professionals are available from The Avant CENTER (The Centre for Ear Nose and Throat Education and Research) (external site)
