Executive Committee
The Senate has an Executive Committee of eight members plus an immediate past chair, consumer representative and ex-officio, responsible for managing the administrative duties and organising full Senate meetings.

Associate Professor Alison Parr
Chair of the Clinical Senate of WA, Director Clinical Services, Armadale Kalamunda Group, Consultant in Palliative Medicine, St John of God Murdoch Hospital, Clinical Lead, Palliative Care, WA Department of Health End of Life and Palliative Care Program, Associate Professor, University of Notre Dame.
Alison is a dual specialist in Palliative Medicine and Medical Administration. She was a Consultant in Palliative Medicine and Medical Director for a Hospice and Palliative Care service in Lancashire, UK, before coming to Western Australia in 2014 to take up the post of Director of Hospice and Palliative Care Services at St John of God Murdoch Hospital.
Alison's increasing interest in medical administration led her to complete RACMA training in Australia, whilst working as Director of Medical Services at Murdoch and subsequently (and currently) as Director Clinical Services at Armadale Kalamunda Group. Alison has held a number of clinical, educational and administrative positions in WA, which have helped her to build networks across public, private, community, aged care, WACHS and education sectors.
As Clinical Lead for Palliative Care with the WA Department of Health, she has presented to the Joint Select Committee on End of Life Choices, the subsequent Ministerial Expert Panels on Advance Health Directives and Voluntary Assisted Dying, and to the Joint Select Committee on Palliative Care in WA. She has also contributed to roundtable events with the Minister for Health led by Palliative Care WA. She continues to work clinically alongside her administrative roles, and has a passion for work that combines both. She believes strongly in collaborative approaches to safety and quality improvement and strategic management, and believes collaboration is key to the future success of the Clinical Senate. She looks forward to serving the Clinical Senate as Chair.
Mr Daniel Mahony, FCHSM CHE APAM
Deputy Chair, Clinical Senate of WA, Area Coordinator Physiotherapy, WA Country Health Service (WACHS)
Dan is a Senior Physiotherapist and Allied Health Manager with passion for rural and remote health and continual improvement of the health system. He holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Graduate Diploma in Health Services Management and is a Fellow and Certified Health Executive (CHE) of the Australasian College of Health Service Management (ACHSM).
Since 2010 Dan has worked as a rural generalist physiotherapist across rural and remote WA in both clinical and management roles, and was Hydrotherapy Pool Manager at Fremantle Health Service 2008-2009. Dan has held a broad range of volunteer positions including as a Board Member of the National Rural Health Alliance (2018-2020), Australasian College of Health Service Management (ACHSM) (2015-2019), Future Health Leaders (2014-2018), Services for Australian Rural and Remote Allied Health (2010-2014) and Chair of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) National Rural Group (2012-2016). Dan is also a commissioned Officer and Specialist Reserve Physiotherapist in the Royal Australian Air Force.
Dr Amanda Stafford
Dr Amanda Stafford is an Emergency Medicine specialist from Royal Perth Hospital (RPH) in Western Australia and the Clinical Lead for the RPH Homeless Team. She also has clinical and research interests in alcohol and drug addiction. Dr Stafford is involved in homelessness policy and strategy initiatives at both local and state government levels and in multiple collaborations with Perth’s homelessness community. She is committed to reducing health inequalities among this most marginalised and vulnerable cohort. Since 2017 she has been part of a growing research collaboration with the UWA Home2Health research team, building the evidence-base for effective interventions and policy measures to improve health for people experiencing homelessness. This includes using data on the healthcare costs to argue the benefits of integrating of social interventions into hospital care and to highlight that the cost of housing is cheaper than the costs of homelessness.
Ms Karina Moore RN BN Grad Dip Nsg MACN FCHSM CHE
Karina is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Health Service Management and Certified Health Executive.
Leaving her home in the south-west of Western Australia, Karina commenced her career in health by attending the West Australian School of Nursing (WASON), as an Enrolled Nursing student. She later continued nursing studies at Edith Cowan University, ultimately majoring in Human Relationships and Research Methodology.
Karina’s health administration career commenced as project officer for the National Demonstration Hospital Program – phase 3 projects. This positive introduction to project management and reform activities led to an ongoing interest in the role of agency as advocate for clinical engagement and development. Karina's current role within the Clinical Excellence Division, Department of Health, Western Australia continues to focus on work aligned to these passions.
Karina has predominantly nursed within metropolitan, critical care and perioperative tertiary teaching hospital environments. She has also worked within various state and private organisations throughout the mid-west, south-west and outer metro-regions of Western Australia. She currently nurses within a metropolitan private ambulatory care service.
Outside of work Karina provides mentoring services to various health-based organisations, provides advisory services to the Curtin University, School of Population Health, Course Advisory Board, is a WA Clinical Senator and holds membership with the Australian College of Nursing, Western Australian Facilitators Network and Australasian Facilitation Network. She also enjoys a beachside lifestyle.
Ms Clare Mullen
Health Consumers Council of WA Representative
Clare Mullen is Deputy Director at Health Consumers’ Council, the state’s peak body for consumer, carer and lived experience advocacy and engagement in the health system. She leads the Engagement and Systemic Advocacy team who create opportunities for people who use the health system and people who work in the health system to work together to improve health outcomes, and use evidence and lived experience to advocate for systemic change. She has worked in a range of leadership roles in the health and social care sector in the UK and Australia, including in the Health Networks Unit and Safety and Quality team at the WA Department of Health, and as Operations Manager at the WA Primary Health Alliance (who run WA’s three Primary Health Networks). Outside of work, she Chairs the national Weight Issues Network, a consumer-led advocacy group for people impacted by weight issues, is an Advisor to the national Obesity Collective, is a member of the Reimagining Government Network, and is on the Board of LJM Memorial Hospice. She is a member of the WA Council for Social Services and the WA Association for Mental Health.
She has a Masters degree in Marketing, and is trained in Gestalt psychotherapy, facilitation and change management.
