Transition of PCR testing continues

From July this year, PCR testing services at COVID clinics have been gradually scaling down as part of a planned transition.
This is in response to reduced demand for PCR tests, with most cases being detected with rapid antigen tests (RATs).
Some public COVID testing clinics are closing, as part of this transition process.
The Rockingham General Hospital public drive-through clinic will close from 4pm this Friday, 21 October and the
Royal Perth Hospital walk-in clinic will close at 4pm on Friday, 28 October.
Regional public clinics at Broome Health Campus and Bunbury Health Campus will also close on Friday 28
October.
Test with a RAT
If you think you may have COVID-19, RATs provide a fast, safe and convenient option. Continue to register
positive RAT results online at healthywa.wa.gov.au/ratregister.
If you need a PCR test, these can also be accessed from private pathology providers with a referral from a GP
or other medical practitioner.
Staff across all COVID testing clinics in metropolitan and regional WA are to be commended for their pivotal
role in WA’s outbreak response.
