Description: The purpose of this OD is to advise registered nurses and program managers who have responsibilities for the delivery of immunisation programs in community health immunisation clinics or school-based immunisation programs of the specific WA legislation and DOH policies that must be followed when planning and delivering school-based and community health immunisation programs.

Guidelines for Department of Health Vaccination Programs – School and Community Health Immunisation

The purpose of this operational directive is to advise registered nurses and program managers who have responsibilities for the delivery of immunisation programs in community health immunisation clinics or the school-based immunisation programs of the specific Western Australian (WA) legislation and Department of Health (DoH) policies that must be followed when planning and delivering school-based and community health immunisation programs.

WA legislation and DoH policies support the recommendations for vaccinations as contained in the Australian Immunisation Handbook 9th Edition 2008 or amended version.  Compliance with these policies and guidelines is mandatory.
