Merit Awards – 2019-2020 recipients
In June 2020, Merit Award grants were awarded to 14 emerging WA research leaders. The grants were received by applicants from the 2019 National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) funding round, who achieved a near-miss in the Ideas Grants and Emerging Leaders Grants categories and met the Department of Health eligibility criteria.
The total value of this Merit Award grant round was $1.33 million and included awards for 4 Ideas Grants and 10 Investigator – Emerging Leaders Grants. The funds are used to increase the likelihood of success in future NHMRC applications.
