COVID-19 update 1 September 2022

WA Health is reporting a total of 1,211 new cases to 4pm last night. There are currently 6,682 active cases in Western Australia.

The latest figures from overnight show, there were 217 people with COVID-19 in hospital, 5 in ICU.

Sadly, today’s report includes one death, dating back to 26 August, which was reported to WA Health yesterday – a man in his 80s.

Of the 1,211 cases, 358 were confirmed via PCR test, the remaining 853 were self-reported positive rapid antigen tests.

A total of 3,123 PCR tests were conducted at either state-run or private pathology clinics yesterday.

WA has recorded 1,130,757 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

Anyone experiencing symptoms should get tested immediately and isolate until they receive a negative result. Visit the HealthyWA website for a full list of testing clinics and opening hours (external site).
