The list of procedures categorised as ‘elective surgery’ has reverted to the 1 July 2021 Australian Institute of Health and Welfare definition (external site). Some arthroscopic, endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures excluded from the definition of elective surgery from 1 July 2022 have been reincorporated under this definition from 1 July 2021. Data is comparable across the 13 months displayed.
