Disaster management training and development

The Disaster Preparedness and Management Unit's (DPMU) training program is designed for health staff and allied emergency services in country and metropolitan areas. The training program is used to develop the skills and knowledge to better prepare for, and respond to, the health consequences of a disaster.

Introduction to Disaster Management

Previously the Disaster Preparedness & Management Unit (DPMU) provided an interactive online course called “Introduction to Disaster Management” Please find attached the updated self-paced theory component (PDF 2MB) of that course.

At this time we are awaiting finalisation of a new Learning Management System (LMS) to provide the content in a more interactive format. We will update this page once the update course is made available via LMS.
