Latest news:

  • The WA public now has the opportunity to comment on a discussion paper that will inform proposed end of life legislation, as part of comprehensive consultation being conducted across the State.
  • A discussion paper was released on 19 March 2019 which highlights key issues for the legislation, due to be introduced to Parliament in the second half of this year.
  • The public can attend sessions being held in Perth and regional centres in April and May or lodge written submissions.

The aim of this section is to assist the health care team to provide best-practice care across a patient’s end of life trajectory, commencing when they are diagnosed with a life-limiting illness or their death is expected.

There are tools, pathways, resources and clinical information available for health professionals to meet the needs of the patient and their family, and information about the legal and administrative requirements after a death.
