The striking architectural design for Manjimup’s new Warren Health Service will make use of local materials, rammed earth and timber.

The design celebrates the history of the area and also reflects and honours the local timber industry, with the exterior walls formed with rammed earth and the entrance representing tree-like canopies made from local timbers.

The Warren Health Service will be one of the major public buildings in the area and is designed to have a civic presence, relating to the town and people who live there.

The $39.3 million new build is part of the State Government's $500 million Royalties for Regions' investment in the Southern Inland Health Initiative.

The Southern Inland Health Initiative's capital works program is more extensive than any project previously undertaken by the WA Country Health Service, prioritising the new builds and upgrades to 37 hospitals and health services in the Wheatbelt, South-West, Great Southern and Mid-West.
