Nominations open for the WA Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards

The WA Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards celebrate the work of Western Australian nurses and midwives. The Awards will be presented at the gala ball in May 2019, which is the highlight of the nursing and midwifery calendar.

To nominate a deserving nurse or midwife for one of the 11 awards categories, visit the WANMEA website (external site) and follow the links to the nomination categories.

Awards categories are explained in detail on the WANMEA website (external site), as well as a few changes to this year’s nomination process, which include:

• A new category in 2019, The Excellence in Person Centred Care – Team Award
• A Statement from the Nominee must be included as an attachment to the nomination. This is required because interviews are no longer being conducted as part of the judging process.
• Endorsement of the Nomination by the nominee’s Director of Nursing, Head of School or Service Manager.

Please note: the Consumer Appreciation Award is also open for patients or clients who would like to acknowledge a nurse or midwife who cared for them.
