Improving health in WA

Sustainable Health Review

In June 2017, the Government of Western Australia announced the Sustainable Health Review (external site) to prioritise the delivery of patient-centred, high quality and financially sustainable healthcare across the State.

Western Australians continue to enjoy good health outcomes and quality health services, however we must address significant financial pressures, along with a growing and ageing population, increasing chronic disease, and health inequity.

The way health is managed and delivered to Western Australians needs to ensure that future generations are receiving quality health care.

The Sustainable Health Review provides an opportunity to focus on value and innovation to further improve health outcomes; improve patient experience; and drive clinical and financial performance. There is significant opportunity to partner across sectors and use advances in technology to deliver care and services in the most appropriate setting – not just hospitals.

Public consultation for the SHR has now commenced. Please see the Get involved Page for information on how you can be involved.
