Phase 3: Implementation

Analysis of impact and outcome data will help to answer questions about the effectiveness of the strategies, whilst assessment of process data will help to explain why or why not a strategy was or was not successful.

A common cause of concern during data collection relates to the ability of staff to accurately obtain data from their participants. Overcoming data collection challenges lie in the early recognition of potential issues and during the planning phases devising strategies and data collection tools which can assist in minimising these barriers.

The purpose of Phase 3 (Implementation) is to implement the program plan and the research and evaluation plan as intended. Deviations from either of these plans should be documented along the way.

Phase 3 involves the following two key steps:

1. Collect data
2. Analyse and interpret data.
